Song of the Pod by Drew

I think we should help 'cause these animals are becoming extinct, and it is against the law to kill endangered animals. The main idea is about the whales talking to each other all in harmony. What I can possibly do is help raise money.

jonah

so I have got six subcriptions and and i just read a good one with say UN population will reach 9 billion in 2050.

Amanda's Answers

I think this article is about the whales songs. The songs travel to other whale pods and sooner or later all the whales are singing the same song with there own little twist to it. These peolpe dont care for the whales. they are just asking for donations to help broadcast the whales live. which i think is "stupid" they dont say anything about the danger they are in or what can be done to help. the only thing i found on "You can help" is them asking for donations to help install a webcam to include a live image of Hokumoanalani. What will that help in?? These whales are in danger of humans. Humans kill them and recieve lots of money from there meat. Poeple should help in stopping that instead of being asked to help out on making there music live. There music is an ugly sound to my ears. they are probably crying out for help and people think there singing for entertainment. They are saying "HELP ME! PLEASE STOP KILLING US AND SELLING OUR POOR FLESH!" They are trying to send a message not singing, is what i think. http://www.whalesong.net/index.php/you-can-help

Both women are strong and brave. while one was being abused by words, being spitted on and beaten she kept going to school. she ha no one and was literally hated by everyone. The other women was living in a place where women are look at lowly. They don't believe women should have education. She went to a girls school where one day, when she was walking a car pulled up and through acid on her face. Even though this happened she kept going to school. Both women faced very serious and dangerous problems but did not quiet and retreat but kept on doing what they do.

I would have kept going to school except I probably would have fight back if i was in danger.

Describe a situation in which you displayed courage.

Once apon a time someone tried to pick a fight with me and so we fought. I kicked his ass. He never tried again. I protected myself and showed I was not afraid to protect myself.

#2: Persuade your classmates to read (or not read) the book you are reading for recreation. Give specific examples of what makes it a good read (or not).

I think it is not a great read because it felt like it was missing something. I think it would be better for you to watch a movie about this then read it.

#3: Identify 2 or 3 possible topics for class discussion using this blog.

1. what if acid someone through acid on your face?
2. Would you fight back or continue to let them do that to you?

  • The girls were alike in their ordeals because they both showed that they were not going to give up on what the believed in. They believed it was their equal right to receive their education, just like rest of society. These girls reached their goals by sticking through the pain and torment.

How would you have handled the situation? Describe a situation in which you displayed courage.

  • If i was in this situation i would stick it out just like the these girls did. I am definitely saucy, i would work hard and do anything i could to improve my life status.

  • I would recommend you to read this novel because it gives you many different opinions on how people view rape, and even what people's definition of rape is and is not. Its a really good book if you like to hear about other peoples life stories and maybe you might relate to what they have to say.
#3: Identify 2 or 3 possible topics for class discussion using this blog.
  • Possible topic i think our class should discuss is just like in my book what they believe rape is?? Such as if the girl Say's its okay to touch is it okay to go ''all the way'', I don't know if this is suitable for class but as we are adults i believe it is a possible topic.

  • Another topic we should talk about it stereotypes, such as if the saying that Chinese are bad driver's. That blacks like kool-aid and watermelon, Or that every white person lives in a trailer park or is rich. There's two side to each race, they say that blacks are mainly poor but look at the majority of football,&Basketball players and rappers.

  • The third topic we should discuss is teenagers in abusive home's and relationships, causes they to be aggressive and form difficulties for them to cope with every day life.

Student Answer:
I don't think you really can say that they do or they don't exist it is just kinda all about peoples beliefs the way they see it as. Personally i think they do because because we are just one tiny planet in one tiny solar system. There is a lot of possibility for more life forms out there we have not even seen how far space goes and we never will. I think it is very hard to be closed minded about the matter because there is so much unknown i think there keeping an open mind is the best thing to do.
